He or she who will read these internetsites will understand that the author does not discuss political problems and follows strictly the new spelling of regional names.

Foreigners can travel in Myanmar only in a central region betweeen some places to the south of Mawlamyine and some to the north of Mandalay.

My friends and I prefer to travel by car. We have a driver and perhaps a guide. The cars are very old and need repairs sometimes. Normally they don't have air-condition any more. The roads are bad. So travelling in Myanmar is not really comfortable for us, but ...

... we travel where and whither we want to, we stop where it is of special interest for us. We pass regions far off the touristic main roads. We suddenly take part in a wedding or in a novice festival. We enjoy the silence of temples which are not so famous;

... we travel at reasonable prices. In Myanmar some small companies are specialised to this sort of excursions. One of them is   Current Travels & Tours Co., Ltd.. My German friends and I have a warm friendship with the young entrepreneurs.

The images are marked with the year of the visit. That is necessary because the country is in a permanent change and development. Pictures between 199 and 2004 are cut out of videos and have therefore only a limited resolution.
